• Smoke alarms should be tested monthly by pressing the test button until the alarm sounds

Ambulance Victoria: Call, Push, Shock

Cardiac arrest is the most life-threatening and time critical medical emergency attended by paramedics. Every minute of delay between collapse and the provision of life-saving interventions, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation, reduces the chance of survival from cardiac arrest by ten percent. Early recognition and action by family and bystanders is therefore critical in maximising the chance of survival – every second of delay matters!
