SES: Slow down to 40km
The 40km flashing lights rule was introduced to improve safety for our emergency service personnel.
Drivers must safely slow down to 40km when approaching or passing emergency service vehicles that are stationary or moving slowly, and have their flashing lights and/or siren sound on.

The purpose of Operation Safeguard is to prevent or reduce the impact of intentional and recklessly lit fires across Victoria.
For areas at risk of fire, expect to see a highly visible police presence, particularly during fire danger periods.
