DEECA: Forest Road Advice
Recent wet weather has impacted a number of popular forest roads in the Mt Beauty area.
The following roads have recently been assessed as 4WD vehicles only:
¨Mountain Creek Road, between Mitta Mitta and Mt Beauty
¨Trappers Gap Road south of Trappers Gap Bridge
Both roads are unsuitable for AWD and 2WD vehicles.
In addition, Mountain Creek Road will be closed to all traffic from 31 July to 4 August for bridge works. Drivers are urged to use Gundowring Road and Kiewa Valley Highway while the works are completed.
For“Don’t ignore the road closures” which has come from the Conservation Regulator arm of DEECA

SES: A Road Safety Reminder for our Alpine Roads
Local Emergency Service Agencies are urging motorists to take care on our Alpine Roads this Winter season, after several rescues being conducted already in recent weeks.
A reminder to all, to prepare for wet, icy snow covered roads and drive to conditions. Manage fatigue and ensure you carry properly fitted snow chains if headed up the mountain.
Even if you regularly travel on Alpine Roads, please take care and keep alert, we can find ourselves in autopilot more often than we realise.
