DEECA*: Beat the Heat – How to cope in extreme heat this summer

Beat the heat this summer by drinking plenty of water, closing curtains and blinds in the morning to keep your house cool, wearing a hat and light-coloured, loose-fitting clothing made from cotton and linen, putting your feet in cool water or use wet towels, keeping in touch with sick or frail friends and family. Also help animals survive by placing shallow containers of water around the garden. Find out about more ways to beat the heat through the links below.

CFA: Stay vigilant

This year the Victorian Government has developed a handy online Fire Planner Tool to help you prepare. Once you’ve created your personalised fire plan it can also be shared with family, friends, and neighbours. If you need more information about the things you should consider you can find them on CFA’s website.

ACRC*: In response to the extreme bushfire season of 2019-2020, the Royal Commission made 15 recommendations that were to be led by the Australian Government.
